WHAT IS A CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a program that has many benefits to you the consumer, and for us, the farmers.

By securing funds early in the year we are able to avoid costly production loans, and plan better for the upcoming season.

Together we will share in the risks and rewards of farming by accepting the fluctuations in the harvest caused by weather, woodchucks, or other adverse circumstances.
 

2013 DEBIT CSA SHARES AVAILABLE
SEASON OF JUNE 1ST, 2013-OCTOBER 31ST, 2013

Debit Style CSA is Simple!
You send us a check for the amount you would like to spend over the season by May 18th, 2013. The higher the sum, the greater the discount will be. After May 18th there will be no discount added to your account.
 
You will be issued a debit card pre-loaded with the amount you wish to spend plus any discount you earn will be added to your account balance at the beginning of the season. Anytime you shop we will total all of your purchases and deduct it from your balance.
 
It’s like having a prepaid account with us!
 
You do not have to come every week. Nor do you have to spend an exact amount.  The only requirement is that depending on your share size we ask that you spend a monthly minimum to avoid saving a bulk of your share until the end of the season. You choose from our variety of the days harvest, our all natural meats, free-range eggs, and other farm goods we may have available.
 
The benefits of joining a CSA like this are you get to choose what farm products we raise you would like and when. Some weeks you may only want a head of lettuce and a couple tomatoes, the next time you may be planning a large party with a large shopping list.
 
When/Where can I use my CSA Share?
Our shares run from early June through the end of October.  Members are able to use their debit CSA share June 1st-October 31st at the farm or any market we participate in.
 
Shares Available
The shares listed below are available and the discount will be applied to your account

Shares Paid in full by 5/18/13
 
$250.00 = 2% discount on every purchase
(must use a minimum of $50.00 each month)
 
$500.00 = 3% discount on every purchase
(must use a minimum of $100.00 each month)
 
$750.00 = 4% discount on every purchase
(must use a minimum of $150.00 each month)
 
$1000.00 = 5% discount on every purchase
(must use a minimum of $200.00 each month)

 
These monthly minimums have been set to avoid someone saving a bulk of their share balance till the end of season. The problem we have encountered in the past is having a share member come at the end of the season and spend $500.00 of their $750.00 share on all of our high-end cuts leaving nothing for the next person. Therefore if you don’t use it, you lose it…it’s only fair. We hope you understand that we are doing this for your benefit and truly appreciate your support!
